Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Big Boy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rua!
Rua is squirming around, avoiding Big Boy's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Big Boy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Big Boy working for a submission but Rua is keeping him at bay.
Big Boy unloads with some shots from mount but Rua bucks and avoids them well.
Big Boy thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Rua is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Big Boy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Big Boy tries to control but Rua wriggling away.
Big Boy is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Rua is in real trouble.
Rua has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Big Boy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Big Boy is looking for the choke from the back position but Rua is controlling his hands well.
Big Boy throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Big Boy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rua defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Big Boy looking to break Rua's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rua remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Big Boy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Rua might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rua is having to fend off submission attempts from Big Boy, who is looking to sink in the choke. Big Boy doesn't have the hooks in though and Rua manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Big Boy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rua avoids it really well and circles away.
Big Boy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rua swats away the attempt to clinch by Big Boy.
Rua lands a jab to the head.

It looks like Taru Big Boy has been cut.
Rua slaps away a takedown attempt from Big Boy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mauricio Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taru Big Boy.
Rua changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Big Boy tries to avoid it but Rua manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Big Boy to the ground. Big Boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Big Boy is breathing heavily.
Rua lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Big Boy goes down and covers up as Rua starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
