Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dougie Poynter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Parson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dougie Poynter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Parson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Parson. That snapped Poynter's head back.
Poynter shoots in for a double leg but Parson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Poynter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Poynter looks for a takedown but Parson sprawls well.
Poynter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Parson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Poynter misses the shot to the body.

Parson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Parson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Parson is looking to advance position but Poynter won't allow it.
Poynter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Parson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Poynter is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Parson dives into side control.

I looks like Parson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Poynter is trying to maintain the position but Parson is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Poynter is trying to stand.
Parson slows the pace down in half guard.
Poynter trying to hold on to Parson's head to control him but Parson postures up.
Parson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Poynter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Poynter won't allow Parson to pass to mount.
Parson is taking a breather. Poynter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Parson is keen to just control but Poynter is a slippery customer.
Poynter is looking for a sweep. Parson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Poynter moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Poynter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Parson manages to pass to side control.
Poynter wants to control but Parson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Poynter is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Parson pulls his head out easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Parson content to control rather than advance.
Poynter tries to get to full guard but Parson has control of the leg.

Poynter on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Poynter wants to improve his position but Parson is controlling well.
Parson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Parson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Parson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Poynter displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Poynter moves in looking to clinch but Parson pushes him off.
Poynter takes a swing at Parson's ribcage but misses.

Parson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Poynter's guard.
Parson won't allow Poynter to get back to his feet.
Parson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poynter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Parson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Parson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Poynter feints and as Parson raises his hands in defense, Poynter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Parson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Poynter wants to control for a moment but Parson uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Parson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Poynter wants to stand and escape but Parson is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parson wants to pass the guard but Poynter is keeping the position.

Poynter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Parson's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Poynter tries to close the distance and clinch but Parson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Poynter is looking to take a break and control but Parson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Parson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Parson.
Come on Parson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Poynter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Parson has him pressed against the cage.

Poynter is looking for a triangle but Parson pushes his legs off easily.
Poynter wants to get back to his feet but Parson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Poynter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Parson controls the pace.

Poynter will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Poynter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I think Poynter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
