Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). OBrien is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fire Work. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake OBrien! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Williams turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Williams misses with a hook. Williams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. OBrien is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Williams's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Williams is trying to control. OBrien wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. OBrien is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Williams is keen to just control but OBrien is a slippery customer. Williams could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Williams missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Williams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. OBrien trying to control from the bottom.

Williams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Williams pushes down on OBrien's leg and manages to get into half guard. OBrien wants to improve his position but Williams is controlling well.

Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. OBrien is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Williams is looking to stall here but OBrien recovers full guard.

Williams gets to his feet. OBrien looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Williams lands a two punch combo.
Williams misses with an uppercut. Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. OBrien misses with a takedown attempt and Williams counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for OBrien! Williams is breathing heavily. OBrien throwing hammer fists to the chest of Williams. What's that going to do exactly?

Williams lands a big elbow. Williams lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Williams is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, OBrien has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if OBrien can do anything to dispel that myth. Williams misses with a head shot. Williams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as OBrien is looking to escape. OBrien can't escape the position.

Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams gets back to half guard. Williams is pressing down on OBrien's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. OBrien postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Williams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of OBrien, into his guard. Williams throws a big right hand that misses. Williams wants to control from the top but OBrien keeps moving. Williams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Williams trying to control but OBrien is working from the bottom. Williams won't allow OBrien to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams with a nice head shot there. OBrien is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Williams preventing the sweep. Williams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Williams lands a couple of decent looking shots. Williams stands up over OBrien, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Williams looking to sit in guard and control but OBrien gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. OBrien drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and OBrien jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. OBrien wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

OBrien looking to pass the guard. OBrien must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. OBrien drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Williams manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now OBrien has Williams in his guard. Williams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and OBrien dives on top into guard. OBrien distracts Williams with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake OBrien showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
OBrien has his takedown stuffed and Williams counters with a series of strikes. OBrien will be more careful next time no doubt. OBrien shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. OBrien won't be happy with that. OBrien tries to buck Williams off but Williams is having none of it. Williams creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Williams wants to lay and pray for a moment but OBrien keeps working. OBrien is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Williams rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round. OBrien trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Williams keeping full guard, as OBrien tries to pass. OBrien is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Williams is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Williams has escaped and now he's on top! Williams scoring with some ground and pound. Williams content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Williams lands a couple of digs. OBrien is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. OBrien working for a triangle but Williams defends it easily.

OBrien is trying to control the action in half guard but Williams is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. OBrien might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Williams kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Williams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Williams. Williams keeping moving, preventing OBrien from controlling successfully. Williams working for a triangle but OBrien defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyler Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
