Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baki Hanma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and daniel slevin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Hanma.

Hanma is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hanma drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and slevin dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Baki Hanma.
Hanma is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from slevin enables Hanma to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. slevin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hanma's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if slevin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hanma will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hanma seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hanma knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for slevin on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hanma has slevin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hanma pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending slevin tumbling to the mat - Hanma dives into slevin's guard.
Hanma lands a couple of digs.
Hanma has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of slevin is proving hard to escape from.

slevin is breathing heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hanma accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hanma bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in slevin's guard.

Baki Hanma is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hanma gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hanma tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. slevin smiles and moves away.

Hanma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hanma seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down slevin for as long as he can get away with.
slevin is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hanma tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hanma has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
A lull in the action here.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Baki Hanma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of daniel slevin.
Still in half guard, Hanma seems content to control.

Hanma is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hanma tries to pass the half guard into mount. slevin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hanma takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hanma seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Hanma is thwarting slevin's attempts to control the position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hanma in particular looking to stall.
slevin is looking to control Hanma's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can slevin avoid being mounted?

We're going to have a standup here because Baki Hanma wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Hanma shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches slevin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

slevin pushes Hanma away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hanma gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Hanma looks up at the clock and then as slevin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hanma smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hanma scores with a couple of short elbows.

Hanma is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but slevin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hanma connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused slevin some visible discomfort.
Hanma is staying tight to slevin's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Hanma tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Baki Hanma showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hanma has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
