Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro De Silva!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
De Silva dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on De Silva's head and hops out.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by De Silva.
Nice straight punches there by Johnson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Johnson.
Johnson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows De Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
De Silva passes into half guard.
Johnson is trying to stand back up but De Silva is controlling him
Johnson is looking for a sweep. De Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
De Silva uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson.
Johnson tries to lock up and control but De Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

De Silva throws some wild stikes that Johnson manages to avoid easily.

De Silva looking for a guillotine from mount but Johnson is having none of it.
Johnson tries to hold on but De Silva postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Silva prevents Johnson from getting the reversal.
Johnson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Johnson pushes De Silva off looking to stand but De Silva dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Silva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Johnson wants to control but De Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Johnson is pressing down on De Silva's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
De Silva stops Johnson from standing up.
Johnson is trying to hold De Silva in close to prevent damage but De Silva has managed to pass into half guard.
De Silva wants to pass to mount but Johnson is defending the position.
De Silva looks gassed!
Johnson pushes De Silva off but De Silva dives into side control.
De Silva just content to control the position.
De Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

De Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Johnson is trying to buck De Silva off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson struggling a bit here.
Johnson manages to get back to half guard.
Johnson tries to roll over but De Silva keeps him under control.
De Silva not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Johnson looking for submissions off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

De Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. De Silva eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but De Silva pulls his head out easily.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard.
Johnson manages to get to full guard.
De Silva postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
De Silva won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alvaro De Silva will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

De Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.

Johnson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think De Silva should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Johnson has tightened it up now! De Silva should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
