Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ainars Gailis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chun Rhialto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ainars Gailis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chun Rhialto! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rhialto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gailis is fending him off so far but Rhialto persists. Nope, Gailis circles away and we're back to standing. Ainars Gailis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gailis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rhialto to score an easy takedown into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gailis managing to control the position. Rhialto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gailis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rhialto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gailis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rhialto has Gailis in his guard. Rhialto manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gailis manages to get himself to full guard.
Rhialto drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gailis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gailis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gailis! Rhialto gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gailis tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rhialto. Rhialto trying to control here.
Rhialto wants to get back to full guard. Gailis seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

You can't force these things though and Gailis defends well. Rhialto is trying to control the position from the bottom.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rhialto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gailis's guard. Rhialto drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gailis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rhialto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rhialto looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rhialto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rhialto is pulling down on Gailis's head to control his posture. Rhialto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gailis is one step ahead there. Rhialto throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rhialto wants to sweep but no luck. Rhialto manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rhialto goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gailis is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chun Rhialto dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gailis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gailis wants it to stay on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Gailis as Rhialto shoots in. Gailis stuffs the takedown attempt from Rhialto. Rhialto gets slowly back to his feet. Ainars Gailis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chun Rhialto. Rhialto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gailis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gailis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fighters circle momentarily. Gailis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Gailis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rhialto shoots for a double leg takedown but Gailis sprawls well. He's pushed Rhialto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gailis scores with a three punch combo!
Gailis lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Chun Rhialto has been cut. Jab, jab by Gailis - just one landing.
Rhialto is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gailis's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Gailis duly obliges. Rhialto is still on wobbly legs! Can Gailis finish him? Gailis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Gailis batters Rhialto with a massive right followed by a huge left! Rhialto is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Gailis lands a final crushing right hand to drop Rhialto to the mat with a gruesome thud! Gailis is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
