Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lee Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Fortune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Gunn! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trevor Fortune! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fortune digs a good body shot into Gunn's ribs. Gunn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gunn lands a right hook to the body.
Fortune takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Fortune jabs Gunn right on the nose. Gunn blinks but takes it well. Fortune misses with the combination.
Fortune slips under a jab. Nice shot lands for Gunn. Fortune lands a jab. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gunn!
Fortune dodges the punch combination from Gunn.
Fortune misses the body punch and Gunn counters with a nice body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fortune throws a right and a left that Gunn avoids nicely. Gunn tries for a takedown but Fortune sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn moves out of range of the strikes. Gunn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fortune is fending him off so far but Gunn persists. Nope, Fortune circles away and we're back to standing. Fortune clobbers Gunn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Fortune needs to keep his hands up - Gunn had a free shot at his head there. Fortune tries to bum rush Gunn with a series of wild strikes but Gunn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gunn shoots for a double leg takedown but Fortune sprawls well. He's pushed Gunn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Gunn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fortune tries to bum rush Gunn with a series of wild strikes but Gunn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fortune throws a combination that misses and Fortune takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gunn moves forwards but Fortune connects with a nice, crisp jab. Gunn showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fortune.
Fortune throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gunn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Gunn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fortune circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fortune throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gunn. Gunn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fortune tries to avoid it but Gunn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fortune to the ground. Fortune escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gunn throws a hook to the side of Fortune's head but Fortune sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Gunn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gunn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gunn lands a couple of elbows. Gunn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gunn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Gunn wants to control from the top but Fortune keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fortune is looking to stand up but Gunn isn't so interested in that idea. Gunn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fortune works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gunn wants to control from the top but Fortune keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Lee Gunn wasn't doing enough on the ground. Fortune slips a jab from Gunn. Gunn misses with a looping right. Fortune uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gunn. Gunn throws a combination that misses and Fortune counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gunn throws a left and a right that both miss
and Fortune counters with a stiff right hand. Fortune cracks Gunn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Gunn throws the left hand but Fortune avoids the punch easily. Gunn shoots and misses and Fortune counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fortune jabs Gunn to the body, keeping him at a distance. Gunn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fortune.
Fortune closes the distance and lands a one-two. Gunn with a poor takedown and Fortune counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gunn stuns Fortune with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A big right from Gunn misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gunn misses the body punch and Fortune makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Gunn connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fortune momentarily.
Fortune tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gunn was well out of range. Poor timing from Fortune. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Gunn dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gunn lands with a cross. Lee Gunn is winning the standup battle so far. Gunn swings and misses with a shot to the body letting Fortune counter with a right hand. Gunn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gunn takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gunn throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lee Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Gunn misses the target. Fortune lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Gunn throws the left hand but Fortune avoids the punch easily. Gunn scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fortune counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gunn doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Gunn doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Fortune to counter with a crisp jab. Good standup being displayed there by Fortune as he connects with a hook. Gunn scores with a jab. Fortune acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A jab from Fortune finds it's way through Gunn's defenses. Fortune swings for the body but Gunn moves out of range.

and Fortune counters with a straight right hand. Fortune misses with a hook. Gunn ducked under it nicely. Gunn tries to move into range but Fortune moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Gunn lands a jab. Gunn is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Fortune scores with a nice right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gunn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fortune moves away. Gunn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fortune is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Gunn has an Americana. Fortune didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gunn is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gunn hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
