Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yoda Master! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hyun Dai! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Master's guard. Dai throws and elbow that misses. Master uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dai's guard. Nice move by Master! Dai pulls Master in close to prevent any damage. Dai throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dai wants to sweep but no luck. Master is looking to work some ground and pound but Dai has wrist control. Dai looking for subs off his back but Master has passed one foot through into half guard.
Dai looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Master pushes past his half guard into mount! Master looking to ground and pound but Dai is blocking nicely. Dai can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Master thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Master misses with a head shot. Dai is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Master throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Dai tries to hold on but Master postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dai avoids a series of strikes thrown by Master.
Master is working for a guillotine from mount but Dai frees his head quite easily.
Master thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dai wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Master.
Master goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dai is on top in guard.
Master had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dai defends it easily. Dai scoring with some ground and pound. Dai pushing down on Master's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Master has hold of Dai's hands but Dai slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dai landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Dai is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Master has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Dai. Oh but Master has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Dai goes limp - he's gone! Master jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
