Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Spencer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, James Miller! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spencer scores with a leg kick.
Spencer tries to clinch up. Spencer connects with a body shot. Spencer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Spencer shoots in but no luck this time. Spencer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Miller's calf. Spencer clinches. Miller has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spencer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The referee is keeping an eye on Spencer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Spencer has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Miller regains guard immediately. Miller has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spencer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spencer sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spencer passes Miller's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Spencer stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Miller to get to his feet. Miller looks gassed! A head kick misses from Spencer. Spencer tries a head kick but it misses.
Spencer moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Spencer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spencer has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller wants a takedown but no success here.
Spencer lands a takedown into guard.
Spencer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miller is keeping the position for now. Miller being controlled here, momentarily. Miller keeping full guard, as Spencer tries to pass. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Spencer wants to stand but Miller is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spencer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spencer lands a glancing blow to the side of Miller's head. Spencer lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Spencer lands with a nice body kick. Spencer throws a leg kick which misses Miller's front leg but catches the back leg as Miller tries to avoid it. Spencer swings for the body but Miller moves out of range.
Spencer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miller was covering up waiting for the punch and Spencer finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Miller working for a triangle but Spencer defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer decides to take the fight back to the feet. Miller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Spencer can pounce on him.
Miller circles away from the clinch attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spencer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spencer wants to clinch. Spencer tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Spencer dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Miller dodges the punch combination from Spencer.
The fight stays on the outside here - Spencer looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Miller gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Spencer counters with a one-two to the body. Spencer turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Spencer bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Michael Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spencer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Miller is looking to escape. Miller is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Spencer in particular looking to stall. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Spencer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We're going to have a standup here because Michael Spencer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Spencer throws a head kick that misses. Spencer with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spencer rushes Miller and presses him up against the cage. Spencer lands a hook that snaps the head of Miller backwards. Miller drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Spencer gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Miller looking for a takedown. Michael Spencer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Miller. Spencer jumps into guard, dragging Miller to the mat.
Spencer manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Crunch! Spencer slams his shin into Miller's torso. Spencer shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Spencer trying to control the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to improve his position but Spencer is controlling well.
Spencer stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Miller to get to his feet. Spencer tries to clinch but Miller is having none of it. Spencer looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Spencer. Miller shrugs it off though. Spencer instigates a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Spencer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Spencer tries to close the distance and clinch but Miller swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Spencer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Spencer prevents Miller from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spencer decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spencer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Miller was well out of range. Poor timing from Spencer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Miller takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Miller defending well as Spencer loads up on a big left hand. Spencer looks for the body kick but Miller saw that one coming.

Miller's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Spencer tries to clinch but Miller moves out of range. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Spencer.

Spencer tries to clinch up. Spencer throws a sloppy head kick and Miller moves out of range easily. Michael Spencer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Spencer. Spencer wants to clinch up but Miller keeps it at a distance. Spencer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Spencer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Miller tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Spencer content just to control the position here. Spencer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Miller for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spencer get's back to his feet. Spencer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Spencer stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Spencer throws a right and a left that Miller avoids nicely. Miller takes one to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Spencer can pounce on him.

Spencer throws a leg kick which misses Miller's front leg but catches the back leg as Miller tries to avoid it. Spencer tries to clinch but Miller moves out of range. Spencer throws a series of punches but Miller avoids them all with ease. Spencer doesn't manage to clinch there - Miller circles away.
Spencer wants to clinch up but Miller keeps it at a distance. James Miller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Spencer closes the distance and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Spencer showed his dominance in that final round. Well Spencer has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
