The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chara avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chara wants to clinch.

Carwin's corner calls for a 1-2. Carwin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Zdeno Chara has been cut.
Chara lands with a kick to the temple. Carwin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chara dodges the punch combination from Carwin.
Sloppy strikes from Carwin. Those never looked like landing.
Carwin looks to land a right hand but Chara moved out of range.

Carwin swats away the attempt to clinch by Chara.
Carwin connects with a looping right hand.
Carwin moves out of range of the leg kick from Chara.

Carwin blocks a head kick by Chara.
Carwin lands a left and a right that send Chara crashing to the mat, dazed. Carwin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Chara seems to have recovered his senses.
Chara blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Chara has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Carwin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Chris Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zdeno Chara.
Chara looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carwin misses with a punch on the inside.
Carwin is pressed up against the cage. Chara has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carwin down to the mat. Carwin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Chara shoots in but no luck this time.
Carwin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Chara sprawling to the canvas! Chara rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Carwin finish him?!
Chara is rocked!
That has opened up Zdeno Chara's cut even more.
Carwin grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Chara takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Carwin cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
