Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gianfranco Pagliera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Petrova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pagliera comes to the cage accompanied by Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrova throws a jab but it's blocked by Pagliera.
A jab from Petrova misses.
Pagliera slips under a jab.
Pagliera uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Petrova.
Petrova misses the jab.
Pagliera moves away from the strike by Petrova.
A telegraphed right hand from Petrova misses the target.
Pagliera fails with the takedown.
Petrova swings for the body but Pagliera moves out of range.
Petrova misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrova throws out a loose jab but Pagliera uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pagliera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Petrova bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pagliera's head backwards.
Petrova digs a good body shot into Pagliera's ribs.
Pagliera shoots for a takedown but Petrova saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Petrova tries to clinch there but Pagliera circles away.
Petrova tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pagliera manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Petrova throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Petrova stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gianfranco Pagliera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Petrova throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Pagliera shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pagliera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Petrova swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Petrova is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pagliera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pagliera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pagliera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Petrova manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pagliera has Petrova in his guard.
Petrova must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pagliera is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Petrova frees his head nicely. Oh but Pagliera has switched to an armbar! Petrova is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
