Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Brian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Gracie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Brian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Gracie! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brian gets a clinch. Brian escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brian dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gracie. That did some damage! Excellent takedown into side control there by Brian. Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Brian controlling the pace. Brian is trying to control the action in half guard but Gracie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Brian is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Brian pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brian trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Brian trying to control from half guard but Gracie is working away.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A head kick from Brian lands but Gracie takes it in his stride.
It looks like George Gracie has been cut. Brian closes the distance and clinches. Brian breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Brian turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Brian manages to end up in side control. Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Brian keeps moving and retains side control. Brian tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie stops Brian from passing to mount. Gracie is looking to reverse the position. Gracie manages to get back to half guard. Gracie gets back to full guard.
Brian is breathing heavily. Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brian trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie wants to sweep but no luck. Brian has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Brian decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get! Gracie fails with the takedown and Brian counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brian scores with a leg kick.
Brian works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Gracie fails with the takedown and Brian counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brian wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it. Gracie tries to roll over but Brian keeps him under control. Gracie moves into full guard.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Brian from controlling successfully. Gracie working for a triangle but Brian defends it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brian wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Brian knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brian! Gracie is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Brian is forced to tap! Great finish!
