Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Czar Maul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maul lands with a kick to the ribs.
Maul misses with a jab, cross combination.
Maul is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Maul shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hitman is looking to improve his position.
Hitman is staying active underneath Maul, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hitman wants to control but Maul is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Maul perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Hitman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maul pulls his head out easily.

Maul winds up and cracks Hitman with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Maul stalling away here and it's allowed Hitman to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Hitman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maul defends it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Maul wants to clinch.
Hitman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Maul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hitman throws a chopping leg kick but Maul manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Horrible takedown by Maul or perhaps it was just good defense by Hitman which made him look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Maul. Hitman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Maul looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Maul shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hitman sprawls well. Hitman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maul gets slowly back to his feet.
Maul stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maul wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jason Hitman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maul is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Maul is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hitman couldn't care less - he's delighted!
