Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Kinionez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Besik Shamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raul Kinionez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Besik Shamba!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinionez lands a jab-cross combination.
Shamba tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shamba tries to clinch but Kinionez is having none of it.
Besik Shamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shamba falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kinionez counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kinionez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kinionez passes into half guard.
Shamba tries to kick Kinionez off but Kinionez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kinionez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Shamba wants to get back to his feet.
Kinionez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Raul Kinionez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shamba looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

It looks like Raul Kinionez has been cut.
Kinionez shoots in but Shamba avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shamba swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shamba throws a lazy right hand but Kinionez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shamba closes the distance but Kinionez moves to the side
and Kinionez counters with a left and a right that stings Shamba.
Besik Shamba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kinionez scores with a decent looking hook.
Kinionez shoots for a double leg takedown but Shamba sprawls well. He's pushed Kinionez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shamba is looking to clinch but Kinionez is avoiding it.
Shamba throws a jab but it's blocked by Kinionez.

Shamba lands a big head kick that sends Kinionez tumbling to the mat! Shamba takes a step backwards and waves Kinionez back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Kinionez avoids the head kick by Shamba.
Shamba throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kinionez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kinionez.
Shamba can't keep his opponent in guard - Kinionez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Shamba is looking to escape.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shamba can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kinionez is controlling the pace.
Kinionez prevents Shamba from standing back up.

Kinionez slows the pace down in half guard.
Shamba is trying to stand.
Kinionez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Raul Kinionez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Crunch! Shamba slams his shin into Kinionez's torso.
Shamba swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shamba looks to land a right hand but Kinionez moved out of range.
Kinionez moves out of range of the strikes.
Shamba throws a hook but Kinionez blocks it.
Shamba lands a jab to the nose.
Kinionez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Shamba is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shamba misses with the combination.

Shamba tries to sprawl but Kinionez drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kinionez stops Shamba from getting back to his feet.
Kinionez is controlling the pace.
Kinionez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shamba throws a head kick that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Raul Kinionez will probably get the nod.

Shamba throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Shamba misses with a double jab

and Kinionez counters with a single leg into guard. Shamba didn't expect that.
Shamba wants to stand and escape but Kinionez is having none of it.
Kinionez showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Kinionez won't allow Shamba to get back to his feet.

Shamba is working an open guard so Kinionez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Shamba swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kinionez counters with a single leg into guard. Shamba didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kinionez passes Shamba's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kinionez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Shamba pushes Kinionez off looking to stand but Kinionez dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shamba displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kinionez.
A slow jab from Shamba misses its intended target.

Shamba cracks a nice hook into Kinionez's ribs.

Shamba will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Besik Shamba seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kinionez slips a jab from Shamba.
Shamba misses with a head kick.
A head kick from Shamba lands but Kinionez takes it in his stride.
Shamba lands with a straight right. Kinionez didn't see that one coming.
Shamba stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Shamba throws a head kick that misses.
Kinionez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Kinionez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kinionez.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kinionez slips nicely into half guard.

Kinionez decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Kinionez moves away from the strike by Shamba.
Shamba throws a sloppy head kick and Kinionez moves out of range easily.

Oooooh!!! Shamba has knocked Kinionez down with a huge combo! Shamba steps away and waves a wobbly Kinionez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Kinionez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shamba and Kinionez are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Shamba throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Kinionez into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Shamba knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Besik Shamba!
