PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ariel Piechocki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piechocki comes to the cage accompanied by The Last of the Mohicans. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ariel Piechocki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Moore! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moore looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Piechocki is trying to control the position but Moore postures up. Moore tries to free his leg and advance position but Piechocki is retaining full guard. Moore would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Moore is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moore throws a big right hand that misses. Moore won't allow Piechocki to get back to his feet. Moore loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Moore should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Piechocki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Moore controls the pace.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Moore tries to clinch but Piechocki is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Piechocki tries to clinch there but Moore circles away.
Moore blocks the body kick.
Piechocki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
No luck for Moore with that takedown attempt. Moore misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Moore throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Piechocki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Moore is in Piechocki's guard. Moore controlling from the top position. Piechocki looking for a sweep. Not yet Piechocki, not yet. Piechocki throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Moore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moore seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gary Moore has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Moore misses with a two punch combination.
Moore closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Piechocki quickly recovers to half guard. Moore postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Piechocki to stand up. Piechocki is breathing heavily. Piechocki has closed the distance and engaged Moore in a clinch.
Piechocki tries to pull guard but Moore won't allow it.
Piechocki is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Moore can't fight it off and eventually Piechocki manages to take the fight to the floor. Moore looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Moore has control of Piechocki's left arm, preventing Piechocki from doing any damage. Piechocki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moore on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moore keeping moving, preventing Piechocki from controlling successfully.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Moore is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Piechocki is aware though and is defending well. Moore has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Piechocki should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Moore has tightened it up now! Piechocki should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
