Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 84 - 0, fighting out of London, Xv Jobber vX! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Bob! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bob avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bob moves into the clinch successfully.
Bob breaks from the clinch.
Jobber vX gets caught flat footed, as Bob shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jobber vX is working an open guard so Bob takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Bob shoots in and bounces Jobber vX off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Bob slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bob cracks Jobber vX with a solid left hand. Bob looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jobber vX trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bob stands and steps away. Jobber vX gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bob drives through with a takedown into guard. Jobber vX will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jobber vX trying to keep a closed guard but Bob is proving a slippery customer.
Bob controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jobber vX wants to sweep here but Bob controlling him for the moment. Jobber vX is working an open guard so Bob takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bob darts in and clinches Jobber vX up against the cage. Bob breaks the clinch.
Bob closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jobber vX is rocked! Jobber vX is breathing heavily. Bob is taking a breather. Jobber vX says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bob passes to full mount! Bob looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bob cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bob controlling from the full mount. Bob scoring with strikes but Jobber vX is staying in there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bob controlling the position easily from mount. Bob working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Jobber vX looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Bob! Submission of the night perhaps?
