The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stglitz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Almero lands a slapping body shot.
Almero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Almero looks to land a right hand but Stglitz moved out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Stglitz misses the target.
Almero swings for the body but Stglitz moves out of range.
Almero staying out of range there.
Francis Almero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stglitz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Almero.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Almero is looking to clinch.
Stglitz connects with a high kick.
Almero tries to clinch there but Stglitz circles away.

Stglitz instigates a clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stglitz tries for a takedown but Almero manages to get underhooks.
Stglitz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Almero just stands there and leans against the cage.

Almero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stglitz looks to throw the jab but Almero is out of range.
Stglitz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Almero sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stglitz thows a body shot but no joy.
Stglitz moves in looking to clinch but Almero pushes him off.
Almero ducks under a wild hook from Stglitz.
Stglitz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Almero throws a quick inside leg kick.

Almero checks a low kick from Stglitz.
Hugo Stglitz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Stglitz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Almero lands a couple of elbows.
Almero with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Almero wants to stand but Stglitz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Almero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stglitz on the ground.
