The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez tries for a takedown but Kawashima sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kawashima scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Gomez shoots in but Kawashima avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice takedown defense from Kawashima. No joy for Gomez on that attempt.
Eiji Kawashima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mattias Gomez.
Gomez fails with the takedown.
Kawashima stuffs the takedown attempt from Gomez. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet.
Gomez looks gassed!
