Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Liddell could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rashad Evans's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell needs to keep his hands up - Evans had a free shot at his head there.
Liddell looks to land a body kick but Evans moved away.
Liddell connects with a solid leg kick.

Evans shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Evans showed some decent athleticism there.
Evans missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Evans thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Evans stops Liddell from getting back to his feet.
Evans working over Liddell with some ground and pound. Liddell looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Evans thows a huge punch but Liddell dodges it nicely.
Evans not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Liddell pushes Evans off but Evans dives into side control.

Evans thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Evans scores with a couple of short elbows.
Evans working the ground and pound.
Evans throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Evans working away.
Evans working the ground and pound but Liddell is defending the strikes.
Evans throws an elbow but Liddell slips to the side and avoids it well.
Evans tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Liddell avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Evans.
The strikes coming from Evans are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Liddell takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Liddell tries to buck Evans off but Evans is having none of it.

Evans decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Evans misses with a hook.
Evans fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Evans works Liddell's body with a nice hook.
Rashad Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddell is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans throws a shot from downtown. Liddell moves away and avoids it.
Evans closes the distance and clinches up with Liddell, looking for a takedown. Evans pushes Liddell against the cage but Liddell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Evans throws an off balance right hand
and Liddell counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Evans missing with a left hand there. Liddell was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Evans swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Evans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Liddell swivels and escapes.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rashad Evans.

Evans bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Evans connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Liddell some visible discomfort.

Evans looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Evans cracks Liddell with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Evans wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liddell, who protects the arm well.
Liddell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Liddell takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Liddell managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Evans.
Evans has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Evans thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Liddell avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Evans.
Evans scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Liddell to see if he's OK.
Check out the look on Evans's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Evans in side control, throwing shots but Liddell defends.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rashad Evans dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Evans fails with a takedown attempt.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Evans and Liddell goes tumbling to the canvas! Evans follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Liddell is rocked!


It looks like Chuck Liddell has been cut.
Evans lands a big elbow - Liddell is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Evans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rashad Evans!
