Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Terell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Turko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mason Terell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ivan Turko!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Terell.
Turko slips a jab from Terell.
Turko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Turko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Terell throws out the jab.
Terell connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Turko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Terell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Terell scores with a shot to the body.
Turko takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Terell lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Turko moves in looking to clinch but Terell pushes him off.
Terell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Turko.

Terell closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Terell lands in his opponent's guard.
Terell scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Terell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Turko is keeping the position for now.
Turko has Terell pulled in close to control his posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Terell throws a big right hand that misses.
Terell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Terell advances to half guard.
Terell prevents Turko from standing back up.
Terell trying to pass the guard but Turko defending well.
Terell not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Terell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Turko's head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Turko is trying to stand back up but Terell is controlling him

Turko is defending against the submission attempts here by Terell.
Turko is not content to let Terell control the position.
Terell wants to pass the guard but Turko is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Terell passes to full mount!

Terell is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Turko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Turko shrugs it off.
Terell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Terell working for a submission but Turko is keeping him at bay.

Terell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Terell looking to ground and pound but Turko is blocking nicely.
Turko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Terell throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Turko reaches up to try and control the position but Terell seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Turko rolls and tries to escape and now Terell has his back!
Terell is landing with strikes. Turko can't take much more of this.
Even with his hooks in, Terell manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Terell looking to break Turko's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Turko remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Terell will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Terell has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Turko has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mason Terell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A punch lands to the side of Turko 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Turko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Terell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Terell throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Terell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Terell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Terell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Terell moves away from the strike by Turko.
The fight stays on the outside here - Turko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Terell cracks Turko with an open hand slap.
Turko tries to clinch but Terell moves out of range.
Turko wants to clinch.
Terell throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turko tries to close the distance and clinch but Terell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Terell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Terell trying to control the action but Turko is working from the bottom.
Terell connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Turko some visible discomfort.
Terell throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Terell misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turko is not content to let Terell control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Terell throws an elbow but Turko slips to the side and avoids it well.
Terell is trying to ground and pound but Turko uses the momentary lack of control by Terell to regain half guard.
Turko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turko won't allow Terell to pass to mount.
Turko avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Terell.
Turko trying to control but Terell postures up.
Terell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turko keeps working.

Terell maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Turko could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Terell has cracked it and Turko is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Terell!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mason Terell!
