Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Saku Sammakko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krilich Berglomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sammakko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Saku Sammakko. The crowd seem to be enjoying Berglomi's choice of entrance music: Gargaj - Rude Awakening. On his way into the ring it seems that Saku Sammakko has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Saku Sammakko seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saku Sammakko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krilich Berglomi! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berglomi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sammakko tries to move into range but Berglomi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sammakko gets the takedown into side control. Sammakko tries for a kimura but Berglomi is defending well. Sammakko prevents Berglomi from escaping the position. Sammakko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. A lull in the action here. Sammakko looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sammakko wants to control but Berglomi is keeping him busy. Berglomi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sammakko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sammakko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Berglomi, who protects the arm well. Sammakko throws a strike aimed at the side of Berglomi's head but Berglomi avoids it well. Berglomi prevents Sammakko from improving position. Berglomi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sammakko asserts his dominance and retains side control. Sammakko working the body and head with strikes.

Berglomi is trying to buck Sammakko off. Sammakko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Berglomi, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sammakko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Berglomi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Berglomi is being controlled here. Sammakko is looking to take a break and control but Berglomi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sammakko tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Berglomi tries to escape but Sammakko is in control. Sammakko in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Sammakko is chipping away with strikes.
Berglomi is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sammakko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Berglomi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Sammakko tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Berglomi throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sammakko. Berglomi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Krilich Berglomi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sammakko takes one on the button. Sammakko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Berglomi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Sammakko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Berglomi is keeping the position for now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sammakko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sammakko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Berglomi dives on top into guard. Sammakko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Berglomi defends well. Sammakko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berglomi preventing the sweep. Berglomi tries to stand but Sammakko is controlling from the bottom. Sammakko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Berglomi manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Berglomi has momentary wrist control but Sammakko slips an elbow through the middle. Berglomi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sammakko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sammakko forces his way into half guard. Sammakko is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Berglomi has managed to free his arm - good work. Sammakko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sammakko trying to control from half guard but Berglomi is working away. Sammakko is trying to work for a kimura but Berglomi is defending well.

Saku Sammakko dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Berglomi cracks Sammakko with a right hand to the side of the head. Berglomi throws a series of punches but Sammakko moves out of range. Berglomi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sammakko momentarily.

and Sammakko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sammakko seems to be looking for submissions.
Sammakko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Berglomi keeps working. Berglomi tries to kick Sammakko off but Sammakko keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Berglomi is not content to let Sammakko control the position. Sammakko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sammakko throwing shots but Berglomi is blocking nicely. Sammakko not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sammakko is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sammakko wants to work for an arm triangle but Berglomi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Berglomi is trying to stand.

Sammakko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Berglomi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Saku Sammakko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sammakko working over Berglomi with some ground and pound. Berglomi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Krilich Berglomi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Berglomi defending well though. Sammakko stalling away here and it's allowed Berglomi to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Saku Sammakko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sammakko trying to control but Berglomi is working from the bottom. Sammakko landing some decent shots from guard. Sammakko throws a strike but Berglomi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sammakko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Berglomi is one step ahead there.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Saku Sammakko. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sammakko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
