Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Varas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Mashburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Mashburn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timmy Varas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Mashburn! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Varas with a lazy takedown attempt and Mashburn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Varas takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Varas doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mashburn counters with a single leg into guard. Varas didn't expect that. Varas looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mashburn puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Mashburn trying to control the pace. Mashburn trying to pass the guard but Varas defending well. Mashburn trying to control the pace. Varas won't allow Mashburn to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Mashburn not doing much here.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tommy Mashburn was stalling too much, according to the referee. Varas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Varas controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mashburn is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Mashburn breaks the clinch.
Varas with a poor takedown and Mashburn counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timmy Varas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mashburn decides to stand back up. Mashburn steps back and let's Varas get back to his feet. That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Mashburn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tommy Mashburn wasn't active enough on the ground. Varas tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Mashburn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Varas won't be happy with that. Varas is trying to get back to half guard. Mashburn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Varas, who protects the arm well. Mashburn staying calm. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Varas is trying to control Mashburn's posture but Mashburn avoids it. Mashburn moves into full mount! Mashburn is working for a guillotine from mount but Varas frees his head quite easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mashburn controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Varas misses with a takedown and Mashburn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mashburn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Let's hope that Mashburn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mashburn is fighting to break Varas's control of his arms but Varas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Mashburn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Varas enables Mashburn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Varas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Varas being controlled here, momentarily.

Mashburn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Mashburn trying to mount his opponent but Varas defends it.

Mashburn feints and as Varas raises his hands in defense, Mashburn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Varas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mashburn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mashburn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Varas's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Varas is looking for a sweep. Mashburn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mashburn not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommy Mashburn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Varas has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Mashburn just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Varas defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Mashburn's arms. Mashburn biding his time, looking for the opening.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mashburn has the hooks in. Varas is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mashburn keeps control of the position easily here as Varas tries to buck him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mashburn is riding his opponent, not letting Varas buck him off. Varas wants to control his opponent's hands but Mashburn gets his hands free. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

And that's the end of the fight! Tommy Mashburn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mashburn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
