Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, chok rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 16 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Clark Kent! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! rivera fails to land the takedown. rivera dives in and grabs Kent's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kent pushes down on rivera's head and hops out. rivera looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for chok rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him. rivera shoots for a double leg takedown but Kent sprawls well. He's pushed rivera's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. rivera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kent's waist but Kent gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing rivera off to one side. Kent misses with a wild combination.
Clark Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kent lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kent.
It looks like chok rivera has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kent tries to bum rush rivera with a series of wild strikes but rivera uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kent with a nice cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent scores with a jab to the body. rivera is breathing heavily. Kent scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Kent uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No joy there for Kent, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kent lands an overhand right. Kent lands a left and a right that send rivera crashing to the mat, dazed. Kent thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
rivera is rocked! Kent throws an overhand right that drops rivera like a sack of potatoes! Kent dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clark Kent!
