PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Indiana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flex Dynomite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Indiana kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jay Z - 99 problems. Flex Dynomite will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Indiana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Flex Dynomite!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dynomite tries a low kick but Indiana avoids it.
Dynomite does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Dynomite throws a big shot that misses.
Flex Dynomite seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dynomite throws a lazy right hand but Indiana sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Indiana uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dynomite.
Indiana moves out of range of the body kick from Dynomite.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dynomite misses with a low kick.
Indiana fakes the leg kick and cracks Dynomite in the body.
Dynomite uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Indiana.

Dynomite tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dynomite scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Dynomite throws a hook to the side of Indiana's head but Indiana sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Indiana closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Indiana lands in his opponent's guard.

Dynomite is pulling down on Indiana's head to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Indiana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Flex Dynomite hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dynomite tried to score with a low kick but Indiana checks it.
Indiana fails with a takedown attempt.
Indiana thuds his shin into the meat of Dynomite's side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dynomite.

and Dynomite counters with a nice low kick that buckles Indiana's knee momentarily.
Indiana tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dynomite swivels and escapes.
Dynomite cracks Indiana with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A lazy left from Dynomite finds it's target.


It looks like Gary Indiana has been cut.

and Dynomite makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Indiana avoids a kick to the body.
Dynomite throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Indiana sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Dynomite fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Indiana.

A big right from Dynomite misses.
Dynomite throws a leg kick
and Indiana counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dynomite lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Indiana has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Indiana and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Flex Dynomite is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Indiana counters with a single leg into guard. Dynomite didn't expect that.

Indiana throws and elbow that misses. Dynomite uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Indiana's guard. Nice move by Dynomite!
Indiana controls Dynomite momentarily but Dynomite frees himself.
Indiana wants to sweep here but Dynomite controlling him for the moment.

Flex Dynomite showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Indiana fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dynomite manages to avoid it.
Indiana is looking to wear down Dynomite with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Dynomite thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Indiana if he has to take too many more of those.

Dynomite throws a looping overhand right but Indiana ducks down to avoid it.

and Indiana counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Indiana takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Flex Dynomite seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Indiana is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dynomite.

Indiana swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

so Indiana counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Indiana wants to pass the guard but Dynomite is keeping the position.

Dynomite really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Indiana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Indiana stands up over Dynomite, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Indiana accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Indiana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dynomite swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Indiana throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dynomite works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Indiana slips nicely into half guard.
Indiana is keen to just control but Dynomite is a slippery customer.

Indiana is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dynomite is just riding it out for now. Indiana eventually gives up the hold.
Dynomite is looking for a sweep. Indiana is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gary Indiana.
I think Indiana has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
