Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Kuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Kuraba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux fails to land with a series of punches.
Dux lands with a hook. Kuraba tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Dux throws a sloppy head kick and Kuraba moves out of range easily.
Dux throws a leg kick but Kuraba moved away.
Kuraba fails with the takedown.

Kuraba shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dux napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dux is trying to escape the position but Kuraba is controlling the position.
The strikes coming from Kuraba are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kuraba trying to control the position but Dux is working away.
Kuraba looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dux is avoiding damage well.
You can see the frustration on Dux's face as Kuraba controls the position.

Kuraba is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dux is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kuraba misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kuraba connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dux some visible discomfort.
Dux is not content to let Kuraba control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kuraba working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dux is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kuraba asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dux can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dux is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Kuraba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kuraba throws a strike aimed at the side of Dux's head but Dux avoids it well.

Kuraba wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dux, who protects the arm well.
Kuraba prevents Dux from escaping the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kuraba thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dux regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kuraba's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Kuraba is trying to control the action in half guard but Dux is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dux is refusing to be controlled, as Kuraba sits in half guard.

Kuraba looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kuraba prevents Dux from standing back up.

Kuraba thows a huge punch but Dux dodges it nicely.
Kuraba is looking to take a break and control but Dux is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kuraba stalling away here and it's allowed Dux to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Dux has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kuraba off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kuraba throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Frank Dux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kuraba shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dux napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Kuraba creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dux sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Dux pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kuraba clinches up against the cage.
Dux is trying to break the clinch but Kuraba is controlling him.
Dux wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dux stops a takedown attempt from Kuraba.
Kuraba has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dux avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Dux's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dux throws a series of punches but Kuraba moves out of range.
Kuraba slips a jab and a cross from Dux.

Kuraba pushes Dux up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux wants to get back to striking at distance but Kuraba won't allow it.

Kuraba has Dux pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kuraba pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dux tumbling to the mat - Kuraba dives into Dux's guard.

Kuraba trying to control the position from guard on top but Dux is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kuraba accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kuraba's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dux avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dux keeping full guard, as Kuraba tries to pass.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kuraba is standing up over Dux. Dux looks to escape but Kuraba dives into side control.
Kuraba tries to move to full mount but Dux actually manages to regain half guard.

Kuraba is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kuraba not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kuraba lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dux regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kuraba.
Kuraba looking to sit in guard and control but Dux gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kuraba looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dux is one step ahead there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Kuraba controls Dux momentarily but Dux frees himself.
Dux stopping the sweep attempt from Kuraba.

Kuraba throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dux escapes and throws Kuraba's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That's six minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kuraba is looking to get back to his feet here but Dux is keeping cool and he's managed to take Kuraba's back.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Dux is trying to stick to Kuraba's back but Kuraba is turning into Dux. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dux's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kuraba.
Kuraba postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dux preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dux working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kuraba.
Kuraba trying to control the position from guard on top but Dux is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kuraba trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kuraba drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dux dives on top into guard.
Kuraba wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Dux is now in half guard.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Kuraba moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kuraba controls Dux momentarily but Dux frees himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kenji Kuraba showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kuraba has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
