Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Project EX (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think EX might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Distillers - City of Angels. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as John Jones enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

EX closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.

EX controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
EX wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Project EX.
Jones throws a series of punches but EX moves out of range.

EX throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jones tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. EX is in Jones's guard.

EX seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.

EX is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jones throws a solid leg kick but EX takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jones.

Project EX seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
EX closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

EX's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
