Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Kanzaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Soshnyanin! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soshnyanin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kanzaki's head backwards. Soshnyanin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kanzaki has time to react. Kanzaki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Soshnyanin defends it nicely. Nice sprawl there from Soshnyanin as Kanzaki shoots in. Kanzaki really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kanzaki misses with a takedown attempt - Soshnyanin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Kanzaki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kanzaki is trying hard to land a takedown here. Soshnyanin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Soshnyanin cracks a nice hook into Kanzaki's ribs. Kanzaki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Soshnyanin circles away. Kanzaki is breathing heavily. Soshnyanin works the jab nicely. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Soshnyanin throws a head kick that Kanzaki semi-blocks.
Kanzaki tries to clinch up. Soshnyanin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Soshnyanin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Soshnyanin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kanzaki's head. Crack! A monster head kick from Soshnyanin and Kanzaki falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Soshnyanin!
