Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harry HooHar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Hidetoshi Nakata!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
HooHar stuffs the takedown.
HooHar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Nakata has his foot on HooHar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. HooHar works his way back into a safe position though.
HooHar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Nakata throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! HooHar escapes and throws Nakata's legs to the side, diving into side control!
HooHar is putting a hurting on Nakata here, landing some big shots from side control.

Nakata can't do much from the bottom here.
The ground and pound from HooHar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

HooHar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nakata has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, HooHar has managed to get both his arms back between Nakata's legs - danger averted.

HooHar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and HooHar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

HooHar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
HooHar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nakata's head.
HooHar is nestled in close to Nakata, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
HooHar is working for a kimura but Nakata is defending it quite comfortably.

Nakata tries to get to full guard but HooHar has control of the leg.
HooHar looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
HooHar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Nakata has hold of HooHar's hands but HooHar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nakata is trying to defend against the ground and pound but HooHar scores with a couple of nice shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nakata shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

HooHar holds on to Nakata around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
HooHar is in a horrible position here. Nakata smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Nakata throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for HooHar because Nakata loaded up on that one.
Nakata throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Nakata thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Nakata looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Nakata moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, HooHar has worked his arm free - good work by HooHar!
Nakata is breathing heavily.
Nakata has hold of HooHar's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! HooHar tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nakata cranks the arm and HooHar screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from HooHar, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
