Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ritari Assa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Topi Takala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ritari Assa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Topi Takala! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Assa with a lazy takedown attempt and Takala counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Takala scores with a nice right hand.
Takala tests Assa's chin there with a solid looking shot. Takala slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Takala feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Assas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Assa gets the takedown into side control. Takala is trying to control Assa's posture but Assa avoids it. Takala regains half guard. Assa prevents Takala from standing back up.
Assa wants to control but Takala is keeping him busy. Assa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Takala is just riding it out for now. Assa eventually gives up the hold. Takala looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Takala is pressing down on Assa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Takala looking to control but Assa passes into half guard.
Assa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Takala tries to roll over but Assa keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Assa trying to control the action but Takala is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takala can do anything to dispel that myth. Assa looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Takala misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Assa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Takala is looking for a sweep. Assa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Takala does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Takala is controlling Assa's trapped leg to prevent Assa from advancing to side control. Takala looking for submissions off his back. Takala wants to control but Assa is keeping busy and won't allow it. Takala wants to improve his position but Assa is controlling well.
Assa wants to work for an arm triangle but Takala is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Takala is trying to escape back to his feet but Assa uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Takala manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Assa is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takala thows a huge punch but Assa dodges it nicely.
Assa looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Takala thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Takala wants to get back to his feet.
Assa is looking to control Takala's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Assa avoid being mounted? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Topi Takala dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Takala stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Takala wants it to stay on the feet. Takala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Takala tests Assa's chin there with a solid looking shot. A left and a right from Takala both land. Nice combination. Ritari Assa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takala scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Takala getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Assa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Takala counters with a stiff right hand. Assa misses with a takedown and Takala counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ritari Assa. That's going to take a lot out of him. A lazy left from Takala finds it's target. Takala jabs Assa right on the nose. Assa blinks but takes it well. Takala scores with a jab to the jaw. Assa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Takala has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Assa shoots and misses enabling Takala to counter with a crisp jab. Takala connects with a single shot there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Assa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Assa on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Takala cracks a nice hook into Assa's ribs. Nice straight punches there by Takala. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Takala.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Takala throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Takala connects with a high kick. Takala lands a jab to the nose. Takala lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Assa at a distance.
Donk. Takala catches Assa right on the button with a cross. Assa looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Takala lands with a nice body punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Takala scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Topi Takala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Takala throws out a powerful jab. Takala jabs at Assa's body. Takala stalks Assa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Assa's face. Assa staggers backwards, shaken. Takala comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Jab, jab by Takala - just one landing. Takala lands a nice shot to the body.
Assa takes a shot right to the bread basket. Takala changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Takala's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Takala duly obliges. Takala ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Takala throws a one two combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takala connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Takala lands a right hook to the body.

Takala is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Takala connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Takala scores with a jab to the body. Takala thuds a left hand into Assa's body. Takala throws a head kick but Assa moves out of range.
Assa takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Assa ducks right into an uppercut from Takala. Takala goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Takala throws a leg kick but Assa moved away. Danga de danga de dang - Takala scores with a four punch combination! Takala scores with a jab. Takala has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Takala scores with a nice strike. Assa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Takala throws a sloppy head kick and Assa moves out of range easily. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Takala, as that shot connected.
Takala is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Assa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takala uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Takala attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Assa moves forwards but Takala connects with a nice, crisp jab. Takala lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Takala connects with a body shot. Takala lands a nice shot that snaps Assa's head back.
Assa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Takala cracks a nice hook into Assa's ribs. Takala ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Topi Takala seems to be getting the better of the standup. Takala throws a one two combo.

He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Takala moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Takala cracks Assa with a right hand to the side of the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Takala throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Takala throws a shot to the body.

Topi Takala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Nice body punch from Takala. A momentary lapse in concentration from Takala enables Assa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Takala manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Takala is pulling down on Assa's head to control his posture. Takala trying to control the position.
Assa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Takala is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Takala has escaped and now he's on top! Takala loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assa keeping moving, preventing Takala from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Takala postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Takala won't allow Assa to sweep him here. Takala is looking to work some ground and pound but Assa has wrist control. Assa keeping moving, preventing Takala from controlling successfully. Assa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Takala has gone for a leg lock! Assa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Takala's guard. Assa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Takala had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Assa defends it easily. Takala can't keep his opponent in guard - Assa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Assa is trying to control. Takala wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Assa is thwarting Takala's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takala is looking for a sweep. Assa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Assa passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Takala! Assa avoids the attempt from Takala to control. Takala is looking to get to half guard. Assa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Takala is looking to escape.

Assa moves to the back. Takala prevents Assa from getting a body triangle. Assa struggling to land strikes to the head as Takala covers up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Takala trying to get back to his feet but Assa is in full control for now. Assa trying to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Ritari Assa showed his dominance in that final round. I think Takala has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
