Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Flash Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hade Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood has chosen Mama Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Gordon as he connects with a hook.

It looks like Hade Wood has been cut.
Gordon takes one on the button.
Gordon throws a lazy right hand but Wood sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gordon misses with a kick to the body.
Wood throws a body punch but Gordon moves out of range.
Wood fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gordon tries to clinch there but Wood circles away.
Gordon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gordon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wood with a jab.
Gordon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wood.
Wood connects with a body shot.
Wood darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Gordon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wood.
Gordon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wood looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wood uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gordon has time to react.
Gordon misses with an attempted mid kick.

Wood lands an overhand right.
Wood keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wood has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Wood displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gordon throws out the jab.
Gordon avoids the body shot from Wood.

Wood avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gordon throws a big shot that misses.
Gordon tries to clinch up.
Gordon tries to move into range but Wood moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gordon.

and Wood counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Well, if Wood is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wood is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wood wants to control but Gordon is keeping him busy.
Gordon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wood seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gordon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wood in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gordon tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wood!
