Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Amber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Belisle! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amber is looking to clinch. Amber throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Amber throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Belisle closes the distance and clinches. Amber tries a body shot but Belisle blocks it.
Belisle has Amber pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Amber manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Belisle blocks an uppercut.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Amber just misses with a elbow thrown towards Belisle's brow. Amber fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Amber tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Belisle avoids it. Belisle is trying to drag Amber to the mat but Amber just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Belisle has clasped his hands together around Amber's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. You can see the frustration on Amber's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Belisle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amber keeps working. Belisle tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amber is trying to get back to his feet. Amber wants to control but Belisle postures up. Belisle tries to advance to mount but can't. Belisle wants to control but Amber is keeping him busy. Amber is trying to get back to half guard. Belisle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Belisle working away. Belisle tries to score with some ground and pound. Amber controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Belisle connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Amber some visible discomfort.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Belisle throwing shots but missing, from side control. Amber takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belisle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amber keeps working. Belisle grinds an elbow into Amber's temple. Amber can't do much from the bottom here. Amber managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Belisle.
Belisle creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Amber sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Belisle tries for a kimura but Amber is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belisle looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Belisle looking to control but instead Amber has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Belisle takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Belisle dominated that round. That's time! Amber's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A head kick misses from Belisle. Amber looks to land a combination but Belisle avoids it well. Belisle tries to clinch up but Amber circles away and keeps his distance. Dave Amber is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Belisle scores a takedown into full mount! Belisle working Amber over with strikes here. Amber is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Belisle unloading with bombs! Amber holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Belisle tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Amber tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belisle lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Amber is rocked! Belisle lands a nice shot to the head. Oh Amber is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Belisle loads up with a big shot that hurts Amber! He's pulled Belisle in close but Belisle has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Amber survive? More strikes from Belisle and Amber is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
