Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ashe Corven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corven's entrance music is Escape. A fine choice. Junkyard Dog has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ashe Corven's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ashe Corven! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junkyard Dog! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Dog. Corven does a little dance to reset his feet. Dog's jab looks to have found its range, popping Corven under the eye. Junkyard Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dog misses with a shot to the body and Corven counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dog misses with a series of wild punches.
Dog looks to land a left hand but Corven moved out of range nicely. A leg kick checked by Corven. Corven tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dog was well out of range. Poor timing from Corven. Dog throws a combination that misses and Corven counters with a takedown into side control. Sloppy strikes there by Corven. An elbow from Corven crashes against the mat.
Corven looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Corven is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dog knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog dodges the ground and pound from Corven. Corven looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog tries to buck Corven off but Corven is having none of it. Sloppy strikes there by Corven. Corven has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Corven controlling from side mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog wants to control but Corven postures up. Corven wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dog keeps working. Dog is trying to get back to half guard. Corven decides to take the fight back to the feet. Corven throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dog tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Corven is in Dog's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corven trying to control but Dog is working from the bottom. Dog keeping full guard, as Corven tries to pass. Dog can't keep his opponent in guard - Corven advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Corven performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Corven is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dog sees it coming and defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corven is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dog is just riding it out for now. Corven eventually gives up the hold. Corven is keen to just control but Dog is a slippery customer. Corven is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Corven thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ashe Corven dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dog's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dog duly obliges. Dog misses with a double jab
and Corven counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dog's guard now. Corven stands up and waves to Dog to follow him. Dog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Corven counters with a single leg into guard. Dog didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dog keeping moving, preventing Corven from controlling successfully. Dog avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dog can do anything to dispel that myth. Corven works a leg free and moves into half guard. Dog is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Corven scores with a couple of nice shots. Dog is breathing heavily. Corven is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Dog is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
