Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jammin' - Bob Marley. Bader has chosen It's my life as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Bader! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bader darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bader is looking to take a break and control but Alves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Alves tries to get to full guard but Bader has control of the leg. Bader thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alves is trying to get back to full guard. Alves is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bader pulls his head out easily. Alves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bader stalling away here and it's allowed Alves to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves looking for a sweep. Not yet Alves, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves trying to control the position.
Bader trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bader missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bader wants to pass the guard but Alves is keeping the position. Alves wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bader pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alves is keeping the position for now. Alves had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bader defends it easily. Alves is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bader must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bader wants to pass the guard but Alves is keeping the position. Bader trying to control but Alves is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bader swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves. Alves tries to clinch up but Bader circles away and keeps his distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves has his takedown stuffed and Bader counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bader. Alves seems keen to control Bader's posture. Alves looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bader throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Alves throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bader uses it to pass to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bader takes a little break here. Alves wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Alves taking a bit of punishment here - Bader scoring with strikes. Bader grinds an elbow into Alves's temple. Bader tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bader working away. Bader wants to control but Alves is keeping him busy. Alves sneaks back into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Bader dominated that round. That's time! Alves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Bader defending well as Alves loads up on a big left hand. Bader shoots and misses and Alves counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alves. Alves preventing the sweep. Bader is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bader trying to strike off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bader looking for a sweep. Not yet Bader, not yet. Alves tries to free his leg and advance position but Bader is retaining full guard. Alves pushes down on Bader's leg and manages to get into half guard. Bader is breathing heavily. Bader moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Alves scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ryan Bader has got the better of the ground game so far. Alves has gone for a leg lock! Bader slips out almost immediately though and dives into Alves's guard. Alves keeping moving, preventing Bader from controlling successfully. Alves looking for a guillotine here but Bader defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves trying to keep a closed guard but Bader is proving a slippery customer.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Alves holds on and takes a little breather. Alves manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bader manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bader swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alves content to stall in guard here. Alves wants to pass the guard but Bader is keeping the position. Bader wants to sweep here but Alves controlling him for the moment. Bader manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alves is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Alves slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Bader drops an elbow to the side of Alves's head. Bader tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alves knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alves keeps control of the position for the meantime. Alves is looking to improve his position.
Bader thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alves's head. Bader wants to free his trapped foot but Alves is holding on for dear life with his legs. Alves trying to hold on to Bader's head to control him but Bader postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edmundo Alves dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick by Alves misses and Bader counters with a single leg into guard. Alves didn't expect that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alves keeping moving, preventing Bader from controlling successfully. Alves throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ryan Bader has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Alves misses with a takedown attempt and Bader counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alves won't be happy with that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bader scoring with punches and elbows. Alves sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Bader slows the pace down in half guard. Alves looking for a kimura from the bottom but Bader passes into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Alves tries to get back to half guard but can't. Alves is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Alves on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bader is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alves is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Alves sneaks back into half guard. Alves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Alves utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bader being controlled here momentarily. Bader is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Alves has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bader is looking to defend but Alves has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bader! Alves pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bader taps out and this one is all over!
