1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Serra Seca! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Serra Seca tries to clinch up. Hardnegger fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Serra Seca avoids it really well and circles away. Serra Seca fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hardnegger checks it well. Serra Seca misses with a takedown and Serra Seca takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Serra Seca misses with a takedown and Hardnegger counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Serra Seca looks gassed! Hardnegger displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hardnegger. Hardnegger lands a jab-cross combination. Hardnegger shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ferdinand Hardnegger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hardnegger shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Serra Seca misses with a takedown and Hardnegger counters with a single leg into guard. Serra Seca didn't expect that. Hardnegger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hardnegger looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hardnegger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hardnegger distracts Serra Seca with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hardnegger pushing down on Serra Seca's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it...
