Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Honcho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoyt Jurgensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Honcho's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Beastie Boys- Sabotage. The crowd seem to be enjoying Jurgensen's choice of entrance music: Sgt Barry Sadler - Ballad of the Green Beret. Mike Honcho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Honcho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hoyt Jurgensen!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jurgensen dodges the punch combination from Honcho.

Honcho swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Honcho takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Honcho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jurgensen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jurgensen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jurgensen wants to pass the guard but Honcho is defending well.
Jurgensen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jurgensen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Honcho's head.
Jurgensen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Honcho avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jurgensen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jurgensen passes to side control.
Jurgensen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Honcho is breathing heavily.
Honcho avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jurgensen.
Jurgensen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Jurgensen tries to advance to mount but Honcho denies him.
Jurgensen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Honcho parries the strikes from Jurgensen easily there. Jurgensen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Honcho to escape.
Honcho seems a little lost for a moment, as Jurgensen dominates the positioning.
Check out the look on Jurgensen's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Jurgensen lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Jurgensen advances nicely into full mount.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Honcho is bucking up trying to escape but Jurgensen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Honcho is in a horrible position here. Jurgensen smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jurgensen lands a big elbow.
Jurgensen controlling the pace for now.
Jurgensen lands a heavy elbow.
Jurgensen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Jurgensen is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Jurgensen tries to control but Honcho wriggling away.
Jurgensen landing strikes from the mount and Honcho is in trouble!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jurgensen lands a nice shot to the head.

Jurgensen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Honcho is on top in guard.

Jurgensen kicks Honcho off and gets to his feet.
Jurgensen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jurgensen jabs Honcho to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jurgensen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Jurgensen lands with a hook. Honcho tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jurgensen closes the distance and lands a one-two.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Donk. Jurgensen catches Honcho right on the button with a cross.


Honcho is rocked!
Honcho walks straight into a right hand from Jurgensen - that's dropped him! Jurgensen jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Honcho from any more punishment! Honcho complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Hoyt Jurgensen!
