Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marlin McCann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Walter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marlin McCann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Walter! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter tries a head kick but it misses.
McCann misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walter.
McCann takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Walter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. McCann blocking the ground and pound attempt from Walter. Walter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McCann is refusing to be controlled, as Walter sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Walter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Walter is keen to just control but McCann is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Walter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter is trying to control. McCann wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Walter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Walter wants to lay and pray for a moment but McCann keeps working. Walter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCann defends it well. McCann keeps control of the position for the meantime.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Walter trying to control from half guard but McCann is working away. Walter stalling away here and it's allowed McCann to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Walter stopping the sweep attempt from McCann. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steven Walter dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A slapping body kick lands there for Walter. Walter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCann but McCann pushes him off and we're back to square one. Walter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCann as he jumps to the side. Walter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCann throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. McCann misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter tries for a takedown but McCann sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Marlin McCann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Walter. Walter fails with the takedown. McCann throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Walter delivers a nice body kick. McCann swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McCann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCann wants it to stay on the feet. Walter is breathing heavily. Walter lands with a slapping head kick. Steven Walter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walter scoring well with a low kick there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCann throws a jab but it's blocked by Walter. Walter attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. McCann fails to land with a series of punches.
McCann tries to bum rush Walter with a series of wild strikes but Walter uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Horrible takedown by Walter or perhaps it was just good defense by McCann which made him look bad. Walter closes this distance looking for a takedown but McCann circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Walter. McCann closes the distance and clinches up with Walter, looking for a takedown. McCann pushes Walter against the cage but Walter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

McCann is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Walter throws a body kick that misses. McCann stuffs the takedown attempt from Walter. Walter gets slowly back to his feet. McCann fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Walter manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter throws a leg kick but McCann sees it coming and checks it nicely. McCann stuffs the takedown. Walter tries for a takedown but McCann circles away easily enabling McCann to counter with a crisp jab. McCann with a nice cross. McCann lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
McCann lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sloppy strikes from McCann. Those never looked like landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marlin McCann dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
McCann shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Walter as he avoids it easily. McCann avoids the head kick by Walter.
Walter drives through with a takedown into guard. Walter trying to control but McCann is working from the bottom. McCann tries to land a sweep but no joy. Walter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. McCann wants to stand but Walter is controlling the position. Walter trying to control the position from guard on top but McCann is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCann keeping full guard, as Walter tries to pass. McCann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Walter being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McCann stuffs the takedown. Walter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Walter throws a nice head kick!
Marlin McCann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A nice leg kick lands there from Walter. Walter moves out of range as McCann throws a body kick.
Walter slips a jab and a cross from McCann.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Walter. Marlin McCann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Walter. McCann throws a hook but Walter avoids it easily. Walter avoids a punch combination nicely.
McCann throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Marlin McCann is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. McCann displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walter. Walter closes this distance looking for a takedown but McCann circles away. McCann throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Walter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Walter swats away the attempt to clinch by McCann. Walter has his takedown stuffed and McCann counters with a right hand to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Walter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McCann throws out the jab.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Steven Walter. I think Walter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
