PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Ricard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Frank Ricard has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Ricard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenta Kobashi!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kenta Kobashi just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kobashi remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ricard is pushing Kobashi's head away, looking to escape. Kobashi manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Kobashi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Frank Ricard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kenta Kobashi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kobashi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
