PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Belkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fast Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Punch has chosen Prodigy - Hot Ride as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Belkofer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fast Punch!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belkofer throws a right hand that misses

and Punch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Belkofer won't be happy with that.
Belkofer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Punch.
Belkofer is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Punch not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Punch is controlling the pace.
Punch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Punch throwing shots but Belkofer is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Fast Punch has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Belkofer throws an off balance right hand

and Punch counters with a shoot takedown. Belkofer fights it but they end up in guard.
Punch is looking to work some ground and pound but Belkofer has wrist control.
Punch throwing strikes but missing.
Punch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punch won't allow Belkofer to sweep him here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Punch is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fast Punch wasn't active enough on the ground.
Belkofer misses with a low kick.
Belkofer tries to work over Punch's front leg with a kick but Punch checks it.
Punch keeps the fight on the outside.
Belkofer throws a poor cross that misses

and Punch counters with a shoot takedown. Belkofer fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Belkofer keeping full guard, as Punch tries to pass.
Punch slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Belkofer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Punch is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
I looks like Punch might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Punch takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Belkofer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Belkofer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Belkofer throws a leg kick that is checked

and Punch counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Punch stops Belkofer from standing up.
Belkofer keeping full guard, as Punch tries to pass.
Belkofer wants to sweep here but Punch controlling him for the moment.
Belkofer managing to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Belkofer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fast Punch dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Belkofer.
Punch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A swing and a miss from Belkofer.
Belkofer throws a lazy uppercut

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Punch counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Punch controlling from the top position.
Punch forces his way into half guard.
Punch is looking to advance position but Belkofer won't allow it.

Punch is trying to work for a kimura but Belkofer is defending well.

Belkofer trying to hold on to Punch's head to control him but Punch postures up.
Punch wants to pass to mount but Belkofer is defending the position.
Belkofer gets full guard.
Punch with a flurry of punches that miss.
Punch trying to control but Belkofer is working from the bottom.
Punch preventing the sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Punch trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Punch is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fast Punch wasn't active enough on the ground.
Belkofer takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like David Belkofer has been cut.
Belkofer throws a poor cross that misses
and Punch makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Belkofer darts in trying to clinch
and Punch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Belkofer tries to land a leg kick but Punch saw it coming and moves away.
Belkofer doesn't manage to clinch there - Punch circles away.
Punch cracks Belkofer with a right hand to the side of the head.
Belkofer clobbers Punch with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Belkofer scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Belkofer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Punch misses with a body shot.
Punch scores with a sloppy right hand. Belkofer should have avoided that one.

Belkofer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Punch wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Belkofer has him pressed against the cage.
Belkofer doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Punch just leaning against Belkofer, taking a breather.
Belkofer throws a head punch that misses.
Belkofer misses with a hook from the clinch.
Belkofer connects with a nasty looking knee right to Punch's face.
Punch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Punch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belkofer takes one to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Punch misses with a jab to the body
and Belkofer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A shot to the body from Belkofer misses
and Punch counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Punch blocks a head kick by Belkofer.
Belkofer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Punch paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Belkofer throws a chopping leg kick but Punch manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Punch scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Belkofer throws a predictable looking body shot
and Punch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nice defenses there by Belkofer.
Punch throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Belkofer colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Punch as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Belkofer is left battered and dazed whilst Punch and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fast Punch!
