Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gracie Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanamichi Sakuragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanamichi Sakuragi struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Gracie Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hanamichi Sakuragi's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanamichi Sakuragi!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to clinch but Sakuragi moves out of range.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Sakuragi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hanamichi Sakuragi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sakuragi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gracie sprawls well initially but Sakuragi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sakuragi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gracie's head.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sakuragi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sakuragi is working for a kimura but Gracie is defending it quite comfortably.

Sakuragi trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie wants to sweep but no luck.

Sakuragi content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gracie has locked up a guillotine! Gracie's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Sakuragi is holding on here and Gracie must be using up a lot of energy. Sakuragi has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gracie gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
