Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ren Duran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimbo Te Mako!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Te Mako displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Duran.
Duran looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Te Mako is fending him off so far but Duran persists. Nope, Te Mako circles away and we're back to standing.

Te Mako stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duran swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Duran might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Te Mako might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Duran kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duran shoots in for a double leg but Te Mako sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duran is on top in guard.

Te Mako is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Te Mako wants to control from the top but Duran keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Duran ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Te Mako moves away.

Duran rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Te Mako moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Duran throws a lazy right hand but Te Mako sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Te Mako counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Te Mako throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Duran sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Te Mako closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Duran did well to prevent Te Mako getting side control.

Te Mako is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Duran is just riding it out for now. Te Mako eventually gives up the hold.

Jimbo Te Mako showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Duran's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Duran swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Te Mako is now in Duran's guard. A big mistake from Duran there, giving up the dominant position!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Duran is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Te Mako trying to hold on to Duran's head to control him but Duran postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Duran throws a body punch but Te Mako moves out of range.

and Te Mako connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ren Duran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Duran is staying active underneath Te Mako, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Te Mako thows a huge punch but Duran dodges it nicely.

I would just about give that final round to Jimbo Te Mako.
Well Te Mako has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
