Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between angry looser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ippo Makunochi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). angry looser had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The key to victory for angry looser has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ippo Makunochi!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
looser tries to close the distance and clinch up but Makunochi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
looser shoots in and drives through. Makunochi sprawls well.

looser defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Makunochi.
Makunochi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Makunochi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Makunochi connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Makunochi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
looser closes the distance and clinches up with Makunochi, looking for a takedown. looser pushes Makunochi against the cage but Makunochi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

looser throws a strike but Makunochi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

and Makunochi moves into the clinch.
Makunochi pulls guard successfully.
looser postures up in Makunochi's guard and throws a big left but Makunochi blocks it.

looser has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Makunochi is proving hard to escape from.
looser not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Makunochi has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes looser off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Makunochi counters with a low kick, right behind looser 's knee.

looser gets control of Makunochi's arms and successfully pulls guard. looser will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Makunochi stands and steps away. looser gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Makunochi counters with a nice double leg into side control. looser won't be happy with that.
looser knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Makunochi on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
looser is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Makunochi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Makunochi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Makunochi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
looser would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
looser is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
looser trying to control the position from guard on top but Makunochi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

looser will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Makunochi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and looser counters with a nice double leg into guard.
looser pushes down on Makunochi's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Makunochi is trying to stand back up but looser is controlling him

looser is trying for a kimura here. Makunochi looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! looser wins by kimura!
