Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donald Mashburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mashburn comes to the ring accompanied by Meshuggah-Bleed. Lewis Wood has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donald Mashburn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lewis Wood! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood fails to land the takedown. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mashburn. Mashburn shoots in and bounces Wood off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Mashburn showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mashburn pushes down on Wood's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mashburn controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We're going to have a standup here because Donald Mashburn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Wood shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mashburn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Wood with a flurry of punches that miss. Mashburn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Mashburn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mashburn trying to control the position here. Donald Mashburn has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Wood shoots and misses and Mashburn counters with a nice double leg into guard. Mashburn slips nicely into half guard. Mashburn is controlling the pace.
That's five minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Donald Mashburn. Mashburn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mashburn somewhat. Wood shoots and misses so Mashburn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Donald Mashburn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis Wood. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mashburn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wood swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Wood wants to get back to full guard. Mashburn is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Donald Mashburn. Wood looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mashburn keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Wood might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mashburn kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Mashburn trying to control the position here.
We're going to have a standup here because Donald Mashburn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mashburn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wood throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mashburn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mashburn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wood throwing strikes but missing. Wood lands a couple of digs.

Mashburn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mashburn is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wood trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mashburn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wood is one step ahead there. Wood lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mashburn down.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Donald Mashburn. I think Mashburn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
