PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonds kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Live And Let Die. Bonds is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown shoots and misses
and Bonds counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bonds is breathing heavily.

Brown is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bonds is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brown feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bonds swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brown drops back looking for a leg! Bonds is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bonds manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Bonds's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brown is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bonds is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bonds has escaped and now he's on top!

Bonds lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brown circles away quickly and effectively.

and Bonds counters with a left and a right that stings Brown.
Brown shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bonds counters with a big head kick but Brown shrugs it off.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Wayne Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Bonds counters with a body kick that stops Brown in his tracks momentarily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Bonds will probably get the nod.

Brown shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brown was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Brown goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bonds is on top in guard.
Bonds would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Bonds got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bonds has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

I would just about give that final round to Wayne Brown.
