Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary Whittaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derrick Brown struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Derrick Brown will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown shoots in for a double leg but Whittaker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Whittaker attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Whittaker stalks Brown and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brown's face. Brown staggers backwards, shaken.

Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whittaker tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whittaker to the ground. Whittaker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Brown is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Whittaker's shoulder. That is not cool.
Let's hope that Brown has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
