Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre LaPointe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBride has chosen For Whom the Bell Tolls as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre LaPointe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan McBride! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McBride changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. LaPointe tries to avoid it but McBride manages to keep hold of a leg and drag LaPointe to the ground. LaPointe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McBride swats away the attempt to clinch by LaPointe. McBride darts in trying to clinch and LaPointe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for McBride! McBride sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. LaPointe is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McBride wants to get back to his feet.
LaPointe wants to lay and pray for a moment but McBride keeps working. LaPointe is really struggling to control McBride but he's trying to hold on to the position. McBride slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. McBride wants to stand up but LaPointe is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBride working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from LaPointe. LaPointe wants to stand but McBride has a closed guard, so he can't escape. LaPointe trying to control the position from guard on top but McBride is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. LaPointe advances to half guard. LaPointe trying to mount his opponent but McBride defends it. LaPointe not landing any meaningful shots this time. LaPointe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. LaPointe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McBride pushes LaPointe off looking to stand but LaPointe dives back in and keeps control.
LaPointe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. McBride is looking to improve his position.
Well, if LaPointe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
McBride wants to improve his position but LaPointe is controlling well.
McBride looks gassed! McBride trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but LaPointe manages to pass to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. LaPointe trying to control but McBride is having none of it. McBride is trying to reverse the position but instead LaPointe has taken his back - oops! McBride preventing the rear naked choke attempt from LaPointe. LaPointe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. LaPointe working for a choke but McBride is defending well. McBride is really stuck here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McBride is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. McBride defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. LaPointe trying to control. McBride really doesn't want to stay on the ground with LaPointe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McBride is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if LaPointe gets his way!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pierre LaPointe dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McBride throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LaPointe's waist but LaPointe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McBride off to one side. McBride takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
LaPointe wants to clinch but McBride slips to the side and McBride counters with a one-two to the body. LaPointe tries to close the distance and clinch up but McBride swats him away and circles back towards the center. LaPointe looks to clinch and McBride counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for LaPointe! LaPointe tries to hold on but McBride pushes him away. LaPointe tries to reverse the position but McBride maintains control. LaPointe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. LaPointe really wants to buck McBride off and get back to his feet. LaPointe regains half guard. McBride is breathing heavily. LaPointe is trying to stand up here but McBride is controlling him well. LaPointe is trying to maintain the position but McBride is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBride is keen to just control but LaPointe is a slippery customer. LaPointe wants to control but McBride is keeping busy and won't allow it. McBride stalling away here and it's allowed LaPointe to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. McBride avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McBride throws a strike but LaPointe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McBride isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. LaPointe stacks McBride on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by LaPointe!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McBride pushes LaPointe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, LaPointe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. LaPointe is looking to take a break and control but McBride is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McBride is trying to improve his position. LaPointe has hold of McBride's arm. He's looking for a kimura. McBride seems comfortable defending it but LaPointe has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! McBride is real pain and he's forced to tap out! McBride is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but LaPointe couldn't care less - he's delighted!
