Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, LaDanian Rucker II! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rucker II instigates a clinch. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Rucker II has him pressed against the cage. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Rucker II is controlling him. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Rucker II. Johnson is trying to force a seperation but Rucker II has the dominant position. Rucker II controlling the action here for a moment.

Rucker II has a couple of punches blocked by Johnson.
Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rucker II paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rucker II tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Johnson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rucker II wants to clinch. Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rucker II circles away quickly and effectively.

Rucker II scores with a hook. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rucker II sprawls well. Rucker II wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. Rucker II shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rucker II showed some decent athleticism there. Johnson is breathing heavily. Johnson won't allow Rucker II to pass to mount. Johnson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rucker II. Johnson is looking to control Rucker II's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rucker II looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Rucker II not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rucker II looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rucker II is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Rucker II eventually gives up the hold. Rucker II is thwarting Johnson's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson is not content to let Rucker II control the position. Johnson is trying to control but can't.
Rucker II with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rucker II is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well. Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rucker II trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Rucker II counters with a stiff right hand. Nice body punch from Rucker II. Rucker II moves into the clinch. Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rucker II lands a shoulder strike. Rucker II lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Johnson blocking some punches.
Rucker II lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Rucker II scores with a shoulder strike. Johnson missing with knees to the body.
Rucker II lands a damaging elbow. Johnson takes an elbow to the forehead. Johnson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Rucker II prevents a takedown attempt there.

Rucker II lands a shoulder strike. Rucker II lands a right hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Johnson swings wildly with an uppercut but Rucker II uses good head movement to avoid it. Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rucker II looks to throw an elbow but misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to pull guard but Rucker II holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.

Rucker II gets through Johnson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short right hand to the side of the head by Rucker II. Rucker II scores with a shoulder strike. Rucker II lands an elbow inside. Rucker II lands a damaging elbow. Rucker II stalling the fight.
Rucker II prevents Johnson from breaking the clinch. Rucker II is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rucker II down to the mat. Rucker II avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rucker II shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rucker II showed some decent athleticism there. Rucker II is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rucker II wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. Rucker II uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson. Rucker II landing strikes from the mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson wants to hold on but Rucker II pushes him away. Rucker II throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Johnson has his hands clasped together but Rucker II breaks the hold and Johnson is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Rucker II!
