PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinton Jackson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iron decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Iron is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Jackson won't allow Iron to pass to mount. Iron is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Iron is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Iron uses his free foot to push down on Jackson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jackson. Iron takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Iron shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Iron looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Excellent takedown into side control there by Iron.
