Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chicken Beef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Bruens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruens is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: River Below. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chicken Beef!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Bruens!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruens attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Bruens throws out a leg kick but Beef moves out of range and Bruens only half commits.
Beef connects with a high kick.


It looks like Paul Bruens has been cut.
Bruens pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Bruens drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bruens controlling the position from side mount.

Bruens is trying to get an arm triangle but Beef is defending well.
Beef dodges the ground and pound from Bruens.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bruens trying to control the position but Beef is working away.
Bruens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Beef sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Sloppy strikes there by Bruens.
Beef is not content to let Bruens control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bruens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Beef sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bruens in side control, throwing shots but Beef defends.
Bruens tries to score with some ground and pound. Beef controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Bruens postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Beef avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bruens.
Beef wants to get back to his feet.

Bruens looks up at the clock and then as Beef takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bruens smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Beef takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Chicken Beef has been cut.
Beef parries the strikes from Bruens easily there. Bruens is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Beef to escape.
Beef is not content to let Bruens control the position.
Beef dodges the ground and pound from Bruens.
Bruens is looking to take a break and control but Beef is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Beef is trying to buck Bruens off.
Bruens is chipping away with strikes.
Bruens lands a nice forearm strike.
Bruens wants to control but Beef is keeping him busy.
Bruens misses with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Bruens dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Bruens counters with a nice low kick that buckles Beef's knee momentarily.

and Bruens decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beef's guard.
Bruens is looking to advance position but Beef has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Beef avoids the attempt from Bruens to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bruens is trying desperately to improve position.
Bruens tries to hold on but Beef pushes him away.
Bruens has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bruens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bruensis looking to pass into half guard but Beef pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Beef is in guard.

Bruens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Beef manages to get himself to full guard.

Bruens is fighting to break Beef's control of his arms but Beef is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Paul Bruens has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bruens throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beef works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Beef wants to stand up but Bruens is controlling him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bruens wants to pass the guard but Beef is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beef keeping moving, preventing Bruens from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bruens with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bruens content to stall in guard here.
Beef preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Paul Bruens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bruens moves out of range of the leg kick from Beef.

Bruens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beef manages to avoid it.

Bruens looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Beef is avoiding damage well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Beef dodges the ground and pound from Bruens.
Bruens in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Bruens lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Beef down.
Bruens is trying to ground and pound but Beef uses the momentary lack of control by Bruens to regain half guard.

Bruens working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Beef's thigh. Beef counters though and makes it back to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bruens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Chicken Beef has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I've got Bruens winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
