Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Snowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layne Staley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staley has chosen Alice in Chains - No Excuses as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Snowe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Layne Staley! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snowe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Staley's sensitive parts. Snowe lands with an overhand left. Snowe throws a quick inside leg kick. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Staley. Staley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Snowe's waist but Snowe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Staley off to one side. Snowe leaves Staley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mike Snowe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Layne Staley. Snowe throws a series of punches but Staley moves out of range. Staley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Staley takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. A decent looking body kick lands there for Snowe. Staley looks gassed! Staley shoots in for a double leg but Snowe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Snowe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Staley takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A punch lands to the side of Staley 's head but he takes it in his stride. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Snowe connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Snowe lets loose with a powerful body kick. Staley will feel that in the morning. Snowe works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Mike Snowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Staley has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. A good leg kick by Snowe. Staley has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Snowe. Snowe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Snowe cracks the inside of Staley's front leg. Snowe punishes Staley's body with a nice straight punch. Snowe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Staley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Snowe lands a head kick. Staley smiles back at him and beckons him forward. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Staley has a takedown stuffed. Snowe throws a head kick that Staley semi-blocks.

Snowe fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Staley on the side of the head. Snowe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Good leg kick by Snowe there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Snowe stuns Staley with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Staley fails to land the takedown. Mike Snowe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Staley tries for a kimura but Snowe is defending well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Staley looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Snowe is avoiding damage well.

Snowe is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Snowe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Staley on the ground. Staley lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Snowe down.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Staley connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Snowe some visible discomfort.
Staley tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Snowe on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Staley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Snowe has escaped the position, nice work there. This has been an exciting period of action! Staley working away.
And that's the end of the fight! Layne Staley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Snowe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
