Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artur Taymazov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stout has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Artur Taymazov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artur Taymazov! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stout misses with the combination.
Stout is breathing heavily. Taymazov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stout is trying to defend but Taymazov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Taymazov slows the pace down in half guard. Stout on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stout tries to get out of the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Stout won't allow Taymazov to pass to mount. Taymazov thows a huge punch but Stout dodges it nicely.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Artur Taymazov wasn't active enough on the ground. Taymazov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stout manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Taymazov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Let's hope that Taymazov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taymazov stands up and waves to Stout to follow him. Taymazov shoots in looking for a takedown but Stout manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Taymazov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Taymazov shoots in but Stout avoids the takedown attempt easily. Taymazov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stout sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sam Stout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artur Taymazov. Stout gets tackled into the cage by Taymazov. Taymazov maintains the clinch. Stout is trying to force a seperation but Taymazov has the dominant position. Taymazov breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Taymazov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Taymazov in side control, just content to control the action for now. Stout takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Taymazov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Stout is letting Taymazov control him for a moment. Taymazov has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Stout!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taymazov controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee warns Stout that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

It looks like Sam Stout has been cut. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Taymazov controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taymazov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stout as he jumps to the side. Taymazov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Taymazov pulls guard successfully.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Horrible takedown by Taymazov or perhaps it was just good defense by Stout which made him look bad. Sam Stout seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taymazov throws a series of punches but Stout avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taymazov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Taymazov lands in his opponent's guard. Taymazov controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Taymazov stands and steps away. Stout gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Sam Stout is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Taymazov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Stout! Taymazov landing strikes from the mount. Taymazov controlling the pace for now. Taymazov landing punches. Taymazov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taymazov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Taymazov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Taymazov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taymazov lands a big elbow. Taymazov controlling from mount. Taymazov lands a nice shot to the head. Taymazov lands a heavy elbow.
Sam Stout's cut is getting worse. Taymazov controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taymazov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Stout's face.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Taymazov with shots to the head and body - Stout looks very uncomfortable down there. Taymazov is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Stout can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sam Stout's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
